Conversion rate optimization (CRO) is the process of optimizing your website landing pages and your overall website design to increase your conversion rate.
What is a Conversion Rate?
Simply put, a conversion rate is the number of conversions on your website divided by the number of visitors. Different websites have different types of conversions. Let’s say that you are tracking a form on your website for a free consultation. Anyone that fills out that form is counted as one conversion.
How to increase your Conversion Rate?
Every website is different so there is no simple answer to this question. An ecommerce website has a different type of conversion than let’s say a law firm. But, here are some simple ideas that will increase your conversions no matter what type of business you are in.
- Have a clean website that a user can easily navigate through
- Have your goal clearly stated and not hidden. For example, if you want a visitor to book a consultation with you, have a form with a big header at the top ‘fill this out for a FREE consultation’.
- Have a clear call to action (CTA) that stands out. A button that says buy now, book a consultation, download now all need to stand out from the rest of your website. Try using the opposite colour of your website.
